ISLAND WEDDINGS

winter - spring 2024

Every Bloom Counts

What happens to wedding flowers if guests don’t (or can’t) take them home? Thanks to island educators and friends, Rae Manson Carter, Ellen Berube, and Anne Davey, any flowers left behind get a chance to brighten someone else’s day through their newly established nonprofit, Second Bloom MV. Working with planners, volunteers repurpose the used flowers from a wedding day into bouquets to be donated to various places on the Island, including the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, Hospice of Martha’s Vineyard, and the Martha’s Vineyard Center for Living.
